In a heartfelt tribute at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Sunday, January 25, 2026, in Dschang, Mmockmbie Cooperative Credit Union Ltd celebrated its trailblazing origins by bestowing the “Visionary Leader Award 2025” upon its founding board members. This accolade recognized their foundational efforts in building a financial powerhouse from the ground up, transforming a fledgling cooperative into Cameroon’s beacon of inclusive banking amid shifting microfinance tides.

The ceremony wove recognition of these pioneers seamlessly into revelations of extraordinary 2025 achievements, presented by General Manager, Chief Ngezem Fortsomo Skyly. Assets soared from 4,778,909,202 FCFA in 2024 to 6,599,896,078 FCFA by year’s end, fueled by disciplined strategies and unwavering member loyalty. Membership exploded by 39%, climbing from 10,002 to 13,940, affirming the union’s role as a trusted ally for families, startups, and rural networks.
Skyly credited the pioneers’ early blueprint for key wins, like the advancing headquarters project due by May 2026 as a cutting-edge service hub plus new branches in overlooked zones and a staff increase to 67 experts via 19 hires.

New board members of MmoCCUL
As outgoing board chair Changeh George passed the torch, he implored successors to match the visionaries’ daring spirit. The award saluted their grit in pioneering microloans for contractors, merchants, government employees, and growers, laying tracks for innovations like high-yield savings, easy withdrawals, and soon-to-come GIMAC cards.
Forward momentum surged with plans for 40% growth in savings, 25% more accounts, and branches in Douala and Kribi, all building to a 10th anniversary gala in July 2026. This will also be an opportunity to launch MmoCCUL’s fabric and celebrates success. These steps echo the pioneers’ commitment to barrier-free finance.
The General Manager also highlighted that 2026 is going to be a year with a difference to members of MmoCCUL. While members showed their appreciations of the power-point presentation of the newly constructed head office at Rond Point Damas, this mega structure of MmoCCUL is expected to open its doors to users around the month of March, 2026.
Members to benefit interests twice a year
During the AGM in Dschang, members were informed amidst deafening applause that MmoCCUL will beginning this year see interests on their savings added twice a year. That is, in June and December. It was also a moment for the Union to recognise one of theirs who benefitted over 8.7 MFCFA as interest on his savings. It was for this reason that the Board maintained 5% interest on savings to its members.
Election of New Board
The event brimmed with democratic fervor as members installed a dynamic new board, led by Chairperson Prof. Nkiendem Felix. He pledged synergy to extend the founders’ reach, including a Douala branch office building before his term ends. Teammates Nkemazap Geratus, Anangafac Ernest, Asonganya Marcus, and Lemonge Norbert bring sharp insights to sustain the momentum.
From grassroots dreams, the pioneers nurtured Mmockmbie Credit Union Cooperative Ltd into a nationwide force for empowerment. Their 2025 honor not only closes a chapter but ignites the next, promising broader prosperity.
Salary Code

Worth noting that on November 13, 2025, the Minister of Finance, Louis Paul Motaze attributed a salary code to Mmockmbie Cooperative Credit Union, a category one microfinance affiliated to Rainbow-Cameroon. This salary code from Minfi now permits MmoCCUL to pay salary of state workers. To celebrate this mile stone achievement, Management and Board decided to give a special offer to clients who refer civil servants to MmoCCUL.
New branch to go operational in Kribi

While the Damas branch is expected to go operation in the month of March, it was also announced that MmoCCUL will open a new branch in the seaside town of Kribi this year. This will move the number of branches across Cameroon from 11 to 13 in just 10 years of MmoCCUL existence. This has made the credit union the fastest-growing financial institution in Cameroon within so short a time.
