Sons and daughters of Nsongwa, Bamenda II Subdivision have met under the Nsongwa Development and Cultural Association (NDECA) in their Annual General Meeting (AGM) to reflect on the past year and chart a course for the future of the village. The meeting was held in the presence of Fon Fo’ngwadezah III at the Azap Multi-purpose Hall in mile 90.

It was the first time sons and daughters of Nsongwa from far and near were coming together after a very long time as a result of the socio-political crisis currently rocking the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon.

Top on the discussions was to map out strategies for 2026 especially as it will mark the 25th Anniversary of their Fon on the throne.

The event that was largely attended by the Association’s leaders, saw the presentation of the new executive who have renewed their commitment to community development.

The AGM also provided a platform for stakeholders to assess progress made in various sectors, including education, healthcare, and infrastructure. Delegates engaged in discussions on ways to enhance community engagement and support for Nsongwa’s growth.

NDECA, dedicated to promoting Nsongwa’s cultural heritage and socio-economic development, continues to play a vital role in mobilising community resources and initiatives. The new team is expected to build on past successes and drive initiatives forward.

Earlier in his welcome address, the National President, Cho Daniel Awah thanked all for coming especially as they were meeting in their beloved star Community Hall after a very long time.

He added that he was honoured to celebrate their heritage with all and sundry of Nsongwa (Mbêsoh).

He challenged them to look at their progress, shared ideas and chat a path forward for a thriving village.

He called on all Mbêsoh to review their achievements, tackle challenges and explore opportunities for growth. “Let’s build a strong and united front” he added.

Cho Daniel Awah appreciated them for the sacrifices they have and are still doing for the development of the village.

He prayed that more sources of intelligence, integrity and financial bond should be multiplied in the name of their ancestors and above all in the mighty name of God.

He challenged those back home to always make their physical presence felt at quarter and branch meetings, and above all during their annual end of year come together.

The National President rendered immense thanks to the women of Nsongwa (TAKEHMBENG MBESOH) that their strength, love and resilience are the back bone of their community development.

Addressing the youth, he said; “You all are wonderfully created with great intelligence and physical fitness, as the spirit that will inject development, happiness, love and unity in the village.”

Generally, the National President said when all the ‘Mbêsoh’ are united, development will follow especially in human resources and investment.

Fon Fo’ngwadezah III on his part was so elated and proud to welcome all his subjects back home from all nooks and crannies.

 He challenged the ‘Mbêsoh’ as they fondly called themselves to be together like a bundle of broom so that nothing can ever tear them apart.

Sporting activities, traditional dances, rites at the palace and prize award ended the come together for 2025 with appointment taken for 2026, which will characterise the Fon’s 25th Anniversary on the throne.
