Members of Longla Comprehensive College Association, Class of 84-89 (LEXSA 84-89) have met in the nation’s economic capital, Douala for their Annual General Meeting, AGM. The meeting brought together members from Yaounde, Bamenda and Douala branches. In an electrifying moment, meeting each other again as a group after they separated one year ago in Yaounde, discussions were very cordial.
It all began with arrival on December 12, where the host branch, led by its President, Tayoh Felicia Ngwe treated her comrades to a roasted fish corner where members shared some fun moments.

It was business as usual on day two where delegates brainstorm all day long to come out with feasible projects that will be able to sustain LEXSA 84-89.
After a word of welcome from host president, Tayoh Felicia where she called for better love, unity and strength amongst members, she wished all a warm stay in the economic capital of Cameroon.
Taking the queue, Chi Lawrence Zamngang, National President of LEXSA 84-89 appreciated the different branch members for efforts put to be together after more than 35 years since separating from the legendary Longla Comprehensive College Mankon. He said meeting annually gives an opportunity for members to take stock, deliberate on measures to adopt to improve on the livelihoods of members, and strengthen a common bond. above all, the discussions will also add value to their alma mater. “It also affords us an opportunity to remember all fallen heroes of our batch and pray for the reposed of their souls…remembering some of our biological parents who left us in the course of the year,” Chi Lawrence said. The LEXSA 84-89 National President informed his peers that the National Bureau had a meeting in Douala to push forward some resolutions taken in the Yaounde AGM. Amongst them was the national uniform and review projects for the group.

He once more reiterated the importance of coming together for an AGM and working as a team despite the odds. “I wish to exploit this opportunity to draw our attention that we meet for a unique purpose; meeting up with our goals, we must work as a team, avoid minor problems that might hinder the well being of the association, respect hierarchy no matter who he/she is. If we disagree, it is to agree because we love ourselves and in mind, ready to foster the activities of LEXSA 84-89. …we must be ready to apologise and accept apologies. As leaders, we should be able to acknowledge our faults, be submissive and be open minded,” the president outlined. Chi Lawrence then appealed to members of who have backslide and those still to join the fold to rethink their position. He invited all to speak-out when hurt and create room for open dialogue, solve disputes in a loving manner without hurting one another.
One of the highlights of the Douala AGM of LEXSA 84-89 was the launching of the group’s uniform and cutting of cake to assist branches develop their projects.
Peers also listened to reports from the various branches with focus on projects envisaged. The next meeting has been programmed to take place in the seaside town of Limbe in 2026. An innovation in the next AGM will include some extra-curricular activities like visiting some tourists site and sports. In this light, each member is expected to contribute for tracksuit to be bought that will accompany members during such activities. Meantime, a committee of three was put in place to do findings and venue of the meeting. They are to submit their report latest March 2026.
