Prof. Fru Angwafo III has been re-elected President of the North West Regional Assembly, extending his leadership for another five-year term following a decisive vote held on December 16, 2025. Running on a single list, Prof. Angwafo secured 88 of the 90 valid votes cast, reaffirming strong confidence in his stewardship of the region’s executive arm.

Speaking shortly after the vote, Prof. Fru Angwafo expressed gratitude for the renewed mandate and emphasized collective governance and inclusive leadership. “You have entrusted us once again with the responsibility to serve, and we will not disappoint,” he said. Stressing collaboration between the executive and the assembly, he added, “One hand cannot tie a bundle.
