The atmosphere was electrifying at St Luke Parish Gros Bouquet Carriere, Yaounde on Saturday, February 21, 2026 when Mboh Brian, Correspondent with The Herald Tribune in the West Region decided to take his long time lover, Oteh Sandra Egbe. The dou solemnized their union during a eucharistic celebration officiated by Rev. Fr. Serge Patrick Mondomobe CCIM former Parish Priest of St Luke’s Parish Gros Bouquet Carriere, and is currently the parish priest of Paroise St Pierre et Paul, Simbock and also Diocesan Chaplain of the Cadets of Mary.

Rev Fr Serge Patrick told the centred his preaching on Christian love that is not about a boss and a slave. He reminded them of Genesis 1:2 where they should see each other in the image of God. He also advises them to play a complimentary role in their marriage life. Fr Serge enjoined the groom to be like Christ as head of the family and should be ready to protect his wife in all circumstances. While Sandra being the church in her married, she was told never to be afraid but put her trust in God. Both were told not to put the church in shame but be like Christ who loved the church and gave his life for it. The ceremony in church preceded the civil part that took place on Friday 20 at the Yaounde II Council.
How it started

Oteh Sandra Egbe and Mboh Brian Mbenowoh’s love story is a wildly romantic rollercoaster ride of faith, love, and mutual admiration, with a dash of sweet humor and a whole lot of heart. It all began on August 12, 2018, at a recollection event for aspirants of the Children of Mary, where Sandra bravely spoke up about Brian’s notorious strictness during the evaluation meeting. This moment sparked a deep connection between them, and Brian was immediately smitten with Sandra’s confidence, humor, and quick wit.
As they began discussing after the event, their conversations flowed effortlessly, like a perfectly choreographed dance. Despite their busy schedules as students, they made time for each other, and Brian would often visit Sandra’s family home in Omnisport, where he’d be treated to the family’s delicacies. Sandra’s humility and kindness won over Brian’s family, who adored her warm nature, her infectious laugh, and her impressive cooking skills (yes, she’s a triple threat!).
Being together for over eight years, as committed Children of Mary Immaculate, Sandra and Brian share a deep devotion to their faith, which serves as the foundation of their relationship. Their shared values, morals, and spirituality brought them closer together and gave their relationship a strong sense of purpose and direction. Their faith is not just a part of their lives; it’s a guiding principle that shapes their decisions, actions, and love for each other.

Brian often reminisced about the advice his university lecturer, Professor Boh Bateng, had given them during their Level 2 days at the Advanced School of Mass Communication (ASMAC). The professor had emphasized the importance of finding a life partner who shares your values and supports your dreams. Brian recalled the professor’s words: “My sons, go to secondary and high school, and look for your wives, then nurture good relationships.” For Brian, Sandra, whom he met quite young in the midst of the Association of the Children of Mary, was the embodiment of those words – a partner who stood by him, supported him, and loved him unconditionally.
A sweet memory that Brian keeps so dearly is that of one Christmas Day, December 25, when Sandra visited him at his student residential area in GP Melen. She brightened up his day with her presence, and Brian was touched by her thoughtfulness. This visit was just one of many moments that showed Brian that Sandra was the one for him.
Sandra adored Brian’s kind, loving, and respectful nature, which drew her to him like a magnet. She appreciated how he would take the time to listen to her, offer words of encouragement, and support her dreams. Brian’s peaceful and calm demeanor was a balm to Sandra’s soul, providing her with a sense of security and stability. He was her rock, her confidant, and her partner in every sense of the word.
On the other hand, Brian was blown away by Sandra’s incredible work ethic and determination. He was impressed by her ability to juggle multiple tasks, keep her cool under pressure, and still manage to look stunning while doing it. Sandra’s humility, kindness, and generosity had won over Brian’s heart, and he cherished her love and support. She was his sunshine, his best friend, and his soulmate.

Together, Sandra and Brian are a perfect match, complementing each other’s strengths and weaknesses. Their shared faith, values, and morals create a strong bond between them, while their individual qualities – Brian’s calm nature and Sandra’s determination – make their relationship dynamic and engaging.
After seven incredible years together, Brian and Sandra are now preparing to take their love to the next level. With their wedding set for February 20, 2026, they’re over the moon with excitement, and can’t wait to start their new life together, surrounded by family, friends, and plenty of laughter. As they count down the days, they’re filled with joy, knowing that their love will continue to grow stronger, wilder, and more unforgettable with each passing day.
