Wirngo Eric Jaidzeka promoter of Erico Metal Fabrication Ltd (EMF) has formally appealed to the Cameroonian government authorities for acknowledgement and support of local welding and metal fabrication services, emphasizing their capacity to meet international standards while strengthening the national economy.

Jaidzeka, who hails from Kumbo, North West Region has a proven track record in manufacturing a wide range of metal products, including agricultural production machines and automobile-related equipment.

According to him, the company has successfully produced power bikes, cargo tricycles, pickup trucks, cars, motorcycles, mini ambulances, mobile restaurants, movable iron houses, and other metal structures, demonstrating the technical competence of local fabricators.

The appeal comes amid recent government procurement activities, notably the purchase of over 700 wheelbarrows for city cleaning operations. Mr. Jaidzeka noted that such demand presents a clear opportunity for local industries to supply durable, cost-effective alternatives made within Cameroon.

He further pointed out that while similar goods are often imported from China, locally fabricated products can match or even exceed their durability. Beyond quality, he stressed that prioritising local production would create employment opportunities for Cameroonian youth and contribute significantly to economic growth.

As part of his proposal, the EMF founder also suggested financing and deploying locally fabricated four-wheel mini dump trucks to support municipal waste management and street cleaning. He explained that this initiative could improve urban sanitation, generate jobs, and further stimulate the local manufacturing sector.

Mr. Jaidzeka concluded by calling on authorities to recognize and support companies like EMF as part of a broader strategy to promote “Made in Cameroon” products. He expressed readiness to honuor any invitation from the presidency or relevant authorities to present a detailed implementation plan for the proposed initiatives.
