“It is often said, once when we have problems, we must jointly look for solutions and like the saying goes ‘when crying keep moving’, that is why the population of Wum massively came out to celebrate the national Unity Day, that was Commemorated by the state. Mayor Dighambong Anthony dedicate Awards to hard working Wum population

Reacting to his double awards received for his numerous developmental strides made to enhance development, in the Wum Municipality, he said the awards were dedicated to the old mothers and population of his community, who continue being supportive, towards his efforts in ensuring that their living conditions get better day by day.

“I dedicate these awards to my old mothers in Wum, who keep on supporting me, in the exercise of my duty as mayor, telling me to go wherever I want to go for they will always be behind me. I am glad someone, somewhere is watching, what am doing, for if it depended on what, was shown on Facebook, I couldn’t have been at this level of receiving these numerous prizes. I am one of those persons who have hard a bitter experience being under the command of the secessionist in Wum, this was for peace to return in my municipality, it’s within that period of captivity, that l realised the boys of  my community were not bad. It was after our exchange that we now have peace in our community. And it is thanks to my elite, that we organised a meeting in Wum, on March 2023, that we all took the decision that, we are done with the disorder in the community, it was time to call on all our children in the bushes to come out and look for ways to work for peace and development. A move that yielded a lot of positivity, as Wum is peaceful and our children can now serenely go to school. We pray that, this peace continues. Menchum has always been an abandoned Division, from 1982 we have not had a single member of government nor a director general, we keep working hoping that the powers be, will one day   put a smile on our face like   other Divisions,” he added.

Mayor calls for unity, peace and prayers

He called on the population to be peace lovers, be united and should pray for their leaders. And know that every leadership comes from God. Citing the Holy Bible, in Hebrews 17:13, that says pray for your leaders, for they have a responsibility towards them and if they don’t pray for them, it will be difficult to contribute towards , the development of their communities.
