Gold Positioning Cameroon as Key Player in Global Mineral Supply

The Apostolic Nuncio to Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea, His Grace, Jose Avelino Bentercourt has in a public notice informs faithful that all access to the liturgical celebration by the Holy Father during his visits to Yaounde, Bamenda and Douala are entirely free of charge. In the public notice, which The Herald Tribune has a copy, the Nuncio says no sale of tickets for seats shall be permitted to these celebrations. “Therefore, the faithful are urged not to be misled by any private initiative seeking payment to access Papal celebrations.” Part of the notice reads. The Vatican Diplomat goes further to reiterate that The Holy Father’s Apostolic visit is first and foremost a spiritual and ecclesia event of great importance for the church in Cameroon and for the entire nation. He therefore invites all the faithful and people of goodwill to focus primarily on the spiritual preparation for this historic event through prayer, liturgical celebrations, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, catechesis and reconciliation. Pope Leo XIV is expected in Cameroon from April 15-18, 2026 in his first African visit since he started his episcopacy in 2025. The visit will take him to Yaounde, Bamenda and Douala. He will celebrate mass with the faithful in these towns and also hold meetings and visit some orphanages and educational establishments.
