Speaking to the press, Archbishiop Samuel Kleda said the event will focused on re-examining the level of health services carried, at the level of all the Dioceses. Also, they intend to go closer to the patients, to find out, what they think is lacking and should be done and in return seek for the patient’s assistance, so as to be at their service. He added that, with the Catholic health service contributing to 40 percent of health care in Cameroon, it is imperative that new ways be put in place to enhance the quality of health service they offer. The Coordinator of the Catholic health organisation, outlined some challenges hindering the offering of better health care to patients. Among them she said is the drastic fall in finances for an efficient service, due to a reduction of the Ministry of Public Health’s budget. Consequently, rehabilitation charges and payment of personnel has become a challenge for the organisation. Knowing the structures doesn’t have the financial power to handle these responsibilities. “For us, offering an efficient and quality service to those living in remote and vulnerable communities has become a huge burden. We call on the ministry of public health and other health partners to come to our help in this mission of ours,” Dr Linda Deboue said.” With the departure of trained health workers, it is important that emphasis be laid on the training more staff and ameliorate their working conditions”.
